THE UNKNOWN
An inside look at how Zero G came to be after one season in Jackson Hole. Oct 28, 2025.
It started small. A handful of friends, a camera, and a winter that wouldn't quit. No budget, no backing. Just a shared obsession with snow and a vision to capture skiing for what it really is: cold mornings, deep turns, and the stories that happen when the lifts stop spinning.
The Unknown became that story: the first-ever film from Zero G Films, a new collective born out of Jackson's raw, unfiltered ski scene.
There was no casting call, no production team. Just locals who live and breathe these mountains. The lineup reads like a roll call of Jackson's next generation: Henry Allen, Boden Birch, Dawson Conway, Griffen Dunne, Rigdon Hammond, Robbie Davis, Arden & Asher Jacoby, Jack Kilmain, Ollie Kottke, Bowen Reber, Nico Santelices, and Owen Smith.
These are the skiers you see dropping cliffs off the tram, chasing light through the sidecountry, and skinning into zones most people only see in postcards. Every face in The Unknown is there for one reason: to ski as hard as they can and tell the story of what winter really feels like here.
The goal wasn't to make another polished ski movie. It was to make something real. Each segment of The Unknown was filmed with whatever gear was on hand: handheld cameras, GoPros, drones strapped to backpacks. What it lacks in big-budget production, it makes up for in soul.
The footage captures what skiing in Jackson is all about: storm days that turn into all-time laps, the chaos of bootpacking through waist-deep snow, and the laughter that echoes long after the cameras stop rolling.
The Unknown is more than a film. It's the start of a movement. It's a reminder that skiing isn't just about contests or sponsors. It's about community, risk, and the hunger that drives people to wake up before dawn chasing a few seconds of flight.
As Zero G Films' debut project, The Unknown set the tone for everything to come: authentic storytelling rooted in mountain life and the people who make it worth filming. Year one was about discovery. Year two is about evolution.
